Datadog Summit

In an effort to adapt to the global changes that took place in 2020, we held our first virtual summit events in Japan and South Korea. At our Datadog Summit events we announce and discuss new features and organize workshops for the Datadog product.Though these events took place within the same week, we developed two distinct brand systems to reflect the culture of their respective regions. The construction of these two separate systems are unified by a singular grid system. The patterns for the Japan Summit system are inspired by emblems known as Mon, or Mondokoro, which are used to represent individuals, families, or business entities in Japan. For the South Korean system, we used a set of symbols and patterns inspired by the Eight Trigrams and common elements of Korean architecture. The colors used in this palette are often seen in traditional formal wear known as Hanbok.
